About

Leprechauns and Goldfish. They might seem like two random things, but they were characters in the first stories I ever wrote. I have always loved writing stories and wanted to make a living out of sharing them with the world. My imagination had no limits, but my understanding of grammar did.

Determined to win the war with grammar, I went to university where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in History and a minor in English (with a focus in creative writing). As I fought to improve my writing, I found myself drawn to editing. My interest was piqued when I took my first creative writing class that included peer reviews and edits. I loved helping other students develop their stories. The decision to make it my career came two years later when I worked as a teaching assistant.  Each semester, I graded papers and provided structural editing and copy editing on student essays.

I’ve taken several webinars through Editors Canada in both copy editing and developmental editing. I have also completed the six-week Print and Digital Editing Immersion Workshop at Simon Fraser University and the Copy Editing for Books, Journals and Articles online course at Ryerson University.

My favourite genres are cozy mysteries, sci-fi, fantasy and romance. Marcia Muller, Janet Evanovich, Joan Hess, Kristen Ashley, Julie Hyzy, Tijan and Mia Sheridan are my favourite authors.
