I crave books. I love to read books. I love to write books. I love to edit books. These are fundamental facts about me.
My specialty is developmental editing. When doing an edit, I like to look at the story, dissect all the different parts, and put them back together again. When giving feedback and making suggestions, I ask the author dozens of questions about aspects of the world and characters they have built. I ask these questions, because the reader will ask them, too. It's just better if I ask them first.
Every author has a story to tell, but that story can often fall flat when not enough attention is given to world building. Your reader will see your story unfold in their minds like their own personal movie. They will cast the actors and choose the locations. They will become part of the story. If you don't take the time to build your characters and the world they live in, your readers will either fill in the blanks themselves or stop reading. It's my job to make sure that doesn't happen.
The genres that peak my interest the most are:
But you are not looking for a developmental edit, I can still help you. My services also include line editing, proofreading, manuscript assessments and beta reads. Check out the Services page to get more information on what these services include and how much they cost.
